To celebrate the Centenary of Qantas a B787-9 will conduct a fly-over of Shellharbour airport to salute Qantas’ first B747-400.
It is proposed to establish a short-term (60 minute) TRA that encompasses the YSHL CTAF and some surrounding airspace. The TRA will mitigate risk associated with wake turbulence from a B787-9 operating in low-level Class G airspace.
The B787-9 will track from Sydney to Stanwell Park then track Coastal before operating not below 1000 FT AGL to make two passes overhead YSHL.
A NOTAM would be published to advise industry of the TRA establishment and as soon as the activity is completed the TRA will be disestablished to minimise any impact to local operators.
