To seek members' feedback on proposed changes to the ATS route structure southwest of Alice Springs (YBAS) intended to become effective from 2 December 2021 AIRAC.
Airservices have proposed an amendment to the ATS Route structure to the southwest of Alice Springs, predominantly to strategically separate routes from Pine Gap Restricted Area (R215, active 24HRS SFC-FL180). Currently, ATS route J64 (two-way route) is not laterally separated with R215 and aircraft require tactical clearances from Alice Springs Tower tracking outbound, and either Melbourne Centre or Alice Springs Tower tracking inbound.
Please see the attached paper for further information and diagrams.
