To advise members of an upgrade to the Ceduna radar.
The Bureau of Meteorology is committed to providing an outstanding service to the Australian community. As part of this commitment, over the coming months and years we will be improving our weather observing operations for communities in the west coast and north to mid-north of South Australia.
From Monday 8 March 2021, upgrades to the Ceduna radar will commence. The radar will be offline for approximately 8 weeks for the upgrade; however the Bureau's warning services and forecasts will continue to be provided through an extensive observation network that includes satellites, automatic weather stations and flood warning networks.
During this time, local communities can draw on alternative information for the west coast and north to mid-north of South Australia.
The Bureau of Meteorology, appreciates any support you can give to advise your colleagues or networks about this important upcoming change. Please see the attached paper and fact sheet for further information.
