    To notify AvSEF members of the proposed temporary changes to tower hours at Albury Airport, which are intended to occur over two stages through to September 2023.

    Airservices Australia is proposing temporary amendments to tower hours at Albury Airport in response to operational resource constraints. These amendments are being proposed to provide improved predictability of our services and reduce ongoing tactical amendments to hours of coverage.

    The proposed amendments are intended to occur over two-monthly stages between August to September 2023, and have been determined to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.

    The following tower hours amendments are being proposed from 07 August 2023 to 31 August 2023:

    *Please note, Albury Class C and D airspace 8,500 feet above mean sea level (AMSL) and below becomes Class G outside tower hours.

    It is important that all pilots are familiar and operate in accordance with the new flight operations regulations described within Part 91. These include:

    • take-off or landing at non-controlled aerodromes
    • understanding the definition of the vicinity of a non-controlled aerodrome (91.360)
    • operating on manoeuvring area, or in the vicinity, of a non-controlled aerodrome (91.375)
    • operating on manoeuvring area, or in the vicinity, of a non-controlled aerodrome – landing and taking off into the wind (91.380)
    • operating on manoeuvring area, or in the vicinity, of non-controlled aerodrome – requirements that apply after joining the circuit pattern (91.385)
    • operating on manoeuvring area, or in the vicinity, of non-controlled aerodrome – requirements related to maintaining the same track after takeoff (91.390)
    • straight-in approaches at non-controlled aerodromes (91.395).
