DA Proposal Barwon Heads Airport (YBRS)

Currently there is a Parachute symbol on the Navigation charts and there is still a need to increase awareness of parachute operations.

The issue

There is frequent Parachuting operations over head Barwon Aerodrome, 7 days a week and with the increased itinerant usage there has been an uplift in close calls between Parachutists and aircraft.

Purpose

Over the last few years, Barwon Heads Aerodrome has seen an increase in aircraft movements in the vicinity and directly overhead. There are more and more itinerant aircraft utilising this Aerodrome as a VFR reference point whilst navigating up and down the Victorian coast line

Proposal

It is proposed to implement a 2nm Danger Area, on the navigation charts around the Aerodrome from SL to FL150 HJ
