High intensity gliding operations in the vicinity of Gloucester aircraft landing area (ALA).
INTRODUCTION
Intensive glider operations will take place near Gloucester Aircraft Landing Area (ALA) (YGCR), NSW, from 16 to 24 August 2025. The location is approximately 29 nautical miles (n miles) on a bearing (BRG) of 240 degrees magnetic (DEG MAG) from Taree Aerodrome (AD) (YTRE).
SCOPE OF OPERATIONS
Operations will take place within an area bounded by straight lines joining
VERTICAL LIMITS: Surface (SFC) – 10,000 feet (FT).
HOURS OF ACTIVITY: 2300 - 0730 UTC daily.
Up to 15 gliders and one tug aircraft.
AIRSPACE AND PROCEDURES
Existing airspace categories apply. Air traffic control (ATC) procedures are unchanged.
Participating aircraft will be broadcasting on common traffic advisory frequency (CTAF) 126.7 megahertz (MHz) when within the area.
Gliders may operate in Class E airspace without transponders.
Should the meteorological phenomena ‘Standing Mountain Lee Waves’ occur, gliders may wish to operate independently outside the area both vertically and laterally and will notify Brisbane Centre.
