Seeking feedback on a Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) to extend the East Australian Exercise Area (R453) for a military activity from 18 - 29 September 2023 inclusive.
This proposal notes the following key issues:
Elements of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will be conducting military activities within R453 over the period 18 – 29 September 2023 inclusive.
To facilitate military activities, a TRA is proposed to extend the south-eastern boundary of R453.
TRA-BOUNTY is proposed for the period 18 – 29 September 2023 inclusive, with large periods of activation occurring during the hours of daylight each day (excluding weekends). Access to TRA-BOUNTY (conditional status RA2) by non-military aircraft will not available, except for aircraft with a declared emergency or operating in the preservation of life or property (Medical Evacuation, Fire and Flood Recovery, Police, Search and Rescue) following the appropriate coordination with the Controlling Authority (details to be confirmed). Specific timings of prohibited, restricted and danger airspace activation will be confirmed by YBBB and YMMM NOTAM. Refer to Figure 1 for a depiction of TRA-BOUNTY and R453.
