Perth Airport Runway 24 (RWY24) Instrument Landing System (ILS) will be out of service from 18 March 2026 due to airside works associated with the new runway until late 2027/early 2028.

    Purpose

Perth Airport RWY24 ILS will be out of service from commencement of taxiway works associated with the construction of Perth's new runway from 18 March 2026 until the Glide Path and Localiser are relocated and tested in approximately late 2027/early 2028.

The outage is to facilitate vehicles and personnel entry into the Glide Path vehicle critical areas during construction works. RWY24 required navigation performance approach (RNP APCH) will provide lateral and vertical guidance in lieu of the ILS, maintaining RWY24 instrument meteorological Conditions (IMC) landing capability to a decision height of 430ft and visibility minimum of 1.2km. For those aircraft without VNAV capability, the decision height increases to 560ft and visibility minimum of 1.9km.

Historical cloud and visibility data indicates the RWY24 RNP APCH will provide 97% landing capability relative to the ILS (based on LNAV only capable aircraft) and the RWY21 ILS will be available when weather conditions require.

There will be no impact on airport capacity. Perth Airport will notify industry via Aeronautical Information Circular prior to turning off the ILS, and NOTAM will be issued until it is turned back on.
