To seek feedback on a proposed Temporary Restricted Areas (TRA) being implemented around Phillip Island race track for the duration of the major event.
The event sees:
To provide general consultation around our request for an airspace solution that in the past has resulted in a TRA around the Phillip Island Racetrack.
As in previous years, Professional Helicopter Services Pty Ltd, on behalf of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, has placed a request to the Office of Airspace Regulation for a protective airspace solution to be provided around the Australian International MotoGP being held at Phillip Island. This is due to the large increase in aviation activity within close proximity to circuit. This activity is generally all associated with the event which is both rotary and fixed wing aircraft.
This request, in the past, has resulted in the establishment of a TRA within 2nm centered on the Phillip Island Racetrack. This TRA allows Professional Helicopter Services to manage users of the airspace by requiring registrations for those wishing to fly into the TRA, all registered/approved user then receive a set of procedures creating an orderly means of arrival / departure to the event.
Currently there are no air displays planned to occur during the event so only the above solution has been sought.
