In support of the Newcastle Williamtown Airshow 2023 (NWAS23), multiple aircraft plan to conduct flypasts and aerial display activities on 18 November 2023.

    The issue

    Points for consideration include:

    1. lateral and vertical dimensions of the Temporary Restricted Area (TRA),
    2. date/time (duration) of the TRA,
    3. access and priorities.

    Purpose

A TRA is being proposed to support the NWAS23, 18 November 2023.

The Royal Australian Air Force will conduct the NWAS23 on 18 and 19 November 2023. In conjunction, military aircraft will conduct flying displays and manoeuvres adjacent to Nobbys Beach which is located on the boundary of controlled airspace and Class G airspace, on 18 November 2023 only. A TRA is required to ensure the safe execution of the events and relieve display pilots of any unnecessary traffic avoidance tasks.
