    A temporary restricted area (TRA) is proposed for a rocket launch at Tolarno Station, New South Wales (NSW).

    The issue

    The University of Sydney (USYD) Rocketry Team requests feedback on proposed TRA to conduct a high-power rocket launch at Tolarno Station, NSW.

    Rocket launching activity dates and details: 

    • Monday 9 December to Sunday 15 December 2024 inclusive 
    • Saturday 15 February to Wednesday 19 February 2025 inclusive
    • TRA proposed from Controlling Authority Launch window from 10 am to 6 pm local time for all days
    • location: Tolarno Station NSW, approximately 23 nautical miles south of Menindee.
       

    Proposal

    To achieve the objective, USYD seeks feedback on the proposal to establish a TRA due to high-power rocket launching activity.

    To mitigate residual airspace risks posed by the activity, a TRA is proposed from surface to Flight Level (FL) 120 within Class G airspace.

    • TRA - Class G
    • Lateral Limits: 6 nautical mile radius of 32°45'32"S 142°29'6"E
    • Vertical Limits: surface to FL120
    • Controlling Authority: USYD Rockery Team
