The Department of Defence National Airspace Management Office (NAMO) requests feedback on the establishment of a restricted area west of the Amberley Military airspace to support Defence flying training outcomes.
Defence has consulted with industry on numerous occasions for the activation of temporary restricted area (TRA) Nimbus in support of high intensity flying activities. Due to the increased workload for industry in temporary airspace activation, there is a request for this airspace to be promulgated into a permanent airspace. This proposal is to publish the airspace formally known at TRA Nimbus into a permanent airspace. The activation of this airspace impacts multiple air routes. Airspace diversion routes shall be developed and published in coordination with Air Services Australia. This airspace shall only be activated in support of high intensity flying activities. Activation windows shall be kept to the minimum possible and the airspace shall be deactivated when not required.
Proposed DAH Amendment.
