Proposed rocket launch near White Cliffs, NSW October 2026

Endeavour Aerospace is seeking a temporary restricted area (TRA) 12 nautical miles (n miles) NNE of White Cliffs Aerodrome (YWHC) to support a rocket launch.

The issue

Endeavour Aerospace is seeking to conduct a high-powered rocket launch from Caradoc Station approximately 12 n miles NNE of White Cliffs, NSW, on 5 October 2026, 6 October 2026, 7 October 2026, 8 October 2026, 9 October 2026.

Two TRAs are proposed within 16 n miles from 30.5982S 143.2267E (30°35'53.5"S 143°13'36.1"E). The Class G TRA will have vertical limits of surface (SFC) to FL125, and Endeavour Aerospace will act as the controlling authority for that volume. The second TRA for controlled airspace will have limits of FL125 to UNL and Airservices Operations Management will act as the controlling authority.

Aviation State Engagement Forum (AvSEF) members should check Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) closer to the date to confirm whether the activity is proceeding. The proponent is in the process of conducting a consultation regarding the activity with known airspace users such as commercial airlines and other stakeholders.

In addition to this, Class G airspace will be monitored for aircraft before and during launch activities. This will include maintaining a visual watch of the airspace, monitoring Very High Frequency (VHF) radio transmissions, and finally monitoring automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) transmissions from the area.

Please note that the TRA dimensions mentioned in this consultation are subject to change (refer to NOTAMs for final dimensions).

Purpose

Endeavour Aerospace is seeking stakeholder input concerning the following, please provide feedback as this will ensure consideration can be made on such issues during the assessment process including safety, environment, national security, equity of airspace, and any activities scheduled for the same volume of airspace over the same period. Proposal

A TRA extending radially 16 n mile from 30.5982S 143.2267E (30°35'53.5"S 143°13'36.1"E) with vertical limits from SFC to unlimited (UNL) will be established on 5 October 2026, 6 October 2026, 7 October 2026, 8 October 2026, 9 October 2026. The main window is currently being targeted, while remaining windows will only be utilised as weather contingencies. Community members should not that some IFPs for YWHC may be unavailable.
