The annual ANZAC Week Airshow is being operated in coordination with the Wellington Shire Council. A 3 nautical mile (NM) temporary restricted area (TRA) is proposed in the vicinity of West Sale Airport to ensure safe separation of airshow display aircraft from other aircraft.
3NM TRA, SFC-5000' centred on West Sale Airport during ANZAC Week Airshow to provide sanitised airspace for display aircraft. Displays are expected from 9:45 to 17:00 local on both the 18th and 19th April 2026.
Details of the proposed TRA, are provided below. The TRA will extend 3NM from the West Sale Airport. The proposed TRA is centered at 380530S 1465755E with a maximum upper limit of 5000’.
The TRA will only be activated during display times as follows (subject to change, refer to NOTAM for finalised timings):
Displays: Saturday 18th, and Sunday 19th April, 9:45 -17:00 local daily
A UNICOM will operate on very high frequency (VHF) 118.3MHz during TRA activation periods, including buffer periods before and after the activation times to assist in traffic separation. Priority will be given to passenger transport operations, as well as to any aircraft with a declared emergency or operating in the preservation of life or property (medivac, fire and flood recovery, police, search and rescue).
