Rocket launching activity near Menindee

University of Sydney (USYD) Rocketry Team will be conducting rocket launching activity at Tolarno Station from the 22 - 25 April 2025.

The issue

• Rocket launching activity from Tuesday 22 April to Friday 25 April 2025 inclusive.
• Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) proposed from Controlling Authority.
• Launch window from 10:00 - 17:00 local time for all 4 days.
• Location is Tolarno Station, approximately 23 nautical miles south of Menindee.

Purpose

The USYD Rocketry Team is seeking members' feedback for a proposed rocket launch at Tolarno Sheep Station in April 2025 to Flight Level (FL) 170.

Proposal

To mitigate residual airspace risks posed by the activity a temporary restricted area (TRA) is proposed from surface (SFC) to FL125 within Class G airspace, and from FL125 to FL170 in the controlled airspace above.

  Lateral Limits: 6NM radius of 32°45'32"S 142°29'6"E 
  Vertical Limits: SFC to FL125
