North Australian Centre for Autonomous Systems (NACAS) has been approved by CASA to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Operations NA 2000 ft - YPDN 104 at 15 NM.

    Purpose

North Australian Centre for Autonomous Systems (NACAS) is a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) research centre under Charles Darwin University. We at NACAS are researching the use of RPAS for long-range delivery and survey in the NT.

We have been approved to use a 3432-hectare parcel of crown land 5 Nm southwest of Koolpinyah Station, 7 Nm north-north-east of Emkaytee (YMKT) and 15 Nm east of YPDN. We have an instrument from CASA to conduct BVLOS Operations NA 2000ft.

Please see below, which shows our Operational volume. We will be monitoring/broadcasting on Multicom (126.7), YMKT (127.1), Robertson Barracks (126.6) and DN Tower (133.1) as appropriate.

We welcome feedback from other airspace users. We look forward to working with the community to ensure we have effective pre-flight and inflight communication to enable safe deconfliction.
