A proposed tethered Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) operation will occur over an airside portion of Melbourne Airport (YMML) in late May.

    The issue

The operation is intended to take place in late May, pending approvals, and will involve a DJI M300 attached to an Elistair motorised tether. The operation will take place over all terminal buildings and will be limited in height to the rooftop of the closest building.

    Purpose

To conduct a survey and inspection of the terminal facades for areas not visible from the ground.

A tethered RPAS Operation over an airside portion of YMML. The RPAS will be operating in a tethered nature and will be limited in height to the roof line of the closest building. The RPAS will be operating horizontally between 5 and 15 meters of the terminal walls.
