Turkey creek aerodrome (YTKY) would like feedback on safety and operational affects for them to utilise common traffic advisory frequency (CTAF) 126.70 megahertz (MHz) including pilot activated lighting (PAL).

    The issue

YTKY is currently undergoing certification and requires assignment of a CTAF.  Due to its location, there is potential for overlap or interference with CTAFs of surrounding aerodromes within a 100 nautical mile (n mile) radius.  Assessment is required to determine the safety and operational impacts of assigning 126.70 MHz to YTKY.

Table 1.  Proximity of surrounding aerodromes as well as their CTAF.
Figure 1.  Surrounding aerodromes in the proximity of Turkey creek aerodrome, with 20 n mile radius increments.

    Purpose

To seek feedback from the broader Aviation Safety Engagement Forum (AvSEF) community on any safety or operational impacts likely to arise due to YTKY utilising 126.70 MHz as its CTAF.

    Proposal

It is proposed that the CTAF frequency 126.70MHz be assigned to YTKY.  Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the potential safety and operational impacts of this assignment by Friday 6th June 2025.
