Royal Australian Air Force base Tindal upgrade phase 3 - A2 closure and taxiway E diversion

Introduction

Airfield construction work as part of the EST00347 project upgrades continues with the commissioning of the extended main runway and TWY A. These works include excavation, pavement construction, navigational aid (NAVAID), and aerodrome ground lighting (AGL) changes/additions.  A2 closure and TWY E diversion route in effect 2 June 2025 to 10 October 2025 to facilitate the demolition and upgrade of A2 pavements.

Impacts 

1. RWY 14L/32R (temporary RWY) open - 24 March 2025 to 01 April 2026.
2. During this period, we will have the TWY E diversion route, RWY 14/32 extension, and TWY A1 open, with TWY A2 closing for reconstruction. The reconstruction of TWY A2 and its intersection on the RWY will be prioritised to open TWY pavements on the airfield 2 June 2025 to 10 October 2025.
