Shoalwater Bay Training Area Expansion - Airspace Update

We are advising of proposed changes to support the expansion of Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) Restricted and Danger Areas (RA/DA – Airspace).

Purpose

This advisory provides a summary of proposed changes to support the expansion of SWBTA RA/DA – Airspace in support of the Australian-Singapore Military Training Initiative (ASMTI). For full context, you should read this summary document in conjunction with the previous change proposal published via the Aviation State Engagement Forum.

This will enable you to compare the two proposals and highlight modifications made based on feedback received through the consultation process.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) will conduct a systematic approach to airspace design to facilitate current and future development of the SWBTA expansion. The ADF continues to develop the new SWBTA facilities and ranges, and while there has been a redesign to facilitate the current development, ongoing expansion will require a review of any promulgated airspace going forward.
