The proposed airspace volume took in two Defence Restricted Areas which will be active during the competition. The proposed airspace volume was altered to excise these areas.

Unfortunately, delays to the readiness of our customer’s launch vehicle have resulted in a postponement of the VS02/3 launch campaign beyond 31 October 2023 to 14 November 2023. As a result, no airspace restrictions will be put in place during this period.
We will publish a new consultation paper advising of the revised launch window once it has been determined.
We have received one response to this consultation from a pilot and aircraft owner in Queensland. The received response was in support for the proposal.
We will proceed with filing the required airspace change proposal (ACP) documents with CASA in the coming days.
Through consultation with charter companies who operate to and from Kidston (YKID) regarding the initially proposed Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) PORCUPINE to support Exercise High Sierra 23 between 19 Jun - 05 Jul 2023, it was decided to raise the western portion of the airspace to create less impost to operators descending into and climbing out of YKID.
The launch location of the kite has been finalised as the site near Bungarra campground which has coordinates: -22.259501, 113.842703.
It is still in the Yardie Creek Area originally proposed.
The Joint Airspace Control Cell are seeking to advise of a change to their consultation regarding Exercise Talisman Sabre 2023 - Ingham and Forrest Beach.
TRA-Castle A will be activated on an additional day: 22 July 2023.

Two responses were received, which were both supportive of the proposed activity.
An airline representative identified a routine charter flight through the area. Southern Launch will work with the airline in the lead-up to launch to determine if it is practicable to select target launch windows around the charter schedule.
A local commercial operator also confirmed that they had no issues with the proposed activity.
